About this course
Meet your workplace first aid compliance requirements with HLTAID011 Provide First Aid — a practical, nationally recognised qualification delivered in a single 8-hour session with no post-course homework. This course gives you the skills and confidence to respond to emergency situations, provide life support, and manage casualties until professional medical help arrives. You'll learn CPR, basic emergency life support, and first aid procedures aligned with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. We deliver first aid training the OTA way: hands-on, scenario-based, and completed during the session. No online pre-work. No post-course assignments. You walk in, train, get assessed, and leave qualified. **Who needs this course:** - Workplace first aiders (mining, construction, rail, manufacturing, office environments) - Supervisors and team leaders with WHS responsibilities - Childcare, education, and community workers - Retail, hospitality, and service industry staff - Anyone requiring current first aid certification for employment or personal preparedness **What you'll cover:** - Recognising and responding to emergency situations - Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on adults, children, and infants - Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) - Managing unconscious casualties and airway obstructions - Controlling bleeding and treating wounds - Managing shock, burns, fractures, and soft tissue injuries - Recognising and responding to medical emergencies (heart attack, stroke, asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetes) - Incident documentation and handover to emergency services **Delivery options:** **Monthly Public Courses:** Scheduled first aid sessions held monthly at [your public venue location]. Ideal for individuals or small groups. Minimum 6 participants required for course to proceed. **Corporate Onsite Delivery:** We bring first aid training to your worksite. No downtime transporting workers to external training venues.
Before you enrol
There are no formal prerequisites for this course. Course requirements: - Participants must be physically capable of performing CPR on the floor for at least 2 minutes - English language proficiency (written and verbal) sufficient to understand emergency procedures and complete assessment - Participants will be required to perform practical skills including CPR, bandaging, and casualty management - Comfortable working in small groups and participating in scenario-based activities This course is suitable for individuals aged 14+ (participants under 18 may require parental consent depending on workplace or regulatory requirements).
